The landscape is my main concern, the distant look, the hidden and confused gestures of the distance. The accurate search I do is not obtained through direct observation of a landscape, but through the formal imaginary which appears in the memory. The irreparable nostalgia that exists in the attempt to rebuild an image of the memory, with extreme subtleness, but with the certainty that it is non-transferable and is about to disappear eventually and with the gradual replacement of new images.
If we gaze at something as much as possible, we reach a point of concentration where a new cycle of something completely unknown and rare is revealed, a very distant abstraction of that first approach. A display of forms without figurative art, or meaning. The look is unfolded in possibilities, in hidden situations, in the mystery of these new perceptive laws. Like when we look ourselves in the mirror for a long time until we don’t recognize ourselves and are surprised of having reached that state of uncertainty and discomfort.
It is on the performance of the landscape in abstract where I focus; on their transitions, strengths, layers, encounters and above all the emptiness. The architecture of the landscape reveals sensitive areas. Therefore, the configuration of one of my works is not only technical and constructive but also poetic and narrative.
