Oscar Zañartu
Venezuelan painter born in Caracas, 1960. It was in Paris where his mystical, personal, magical, blue beasts, and their men-children, knights and heroes, centaurs sprout from within and translate themselves into works of incredible beauty. A series of large-format pieces, almost monumental, coming from a noble creational line. His work is represented in public and private collections nationally and internationally.
In 1982 he won the Critven National Prize and in 1990 the Honorable Mention José Antonio Páez at the Venezuelan Embassy in Paris. In 1991 he was awarded the first prize of Painting Itinerant, in Levallois Perret, France.
