The Venezuelan sculptor Oscar D'Empaire studied Business Administration at St. Frances College of Pennsylvania. Since 1953 he is member of the board of "Centro de Bellas Artes de Maracaibo" and in early 1980's began his exhibition activity in the collective "Collages" (Galería Estudio Actual, Caracas). By the 1983, three years later, held his first solo, a series of assemblages created with found objects. The majority of his work is inspired by gears, zippers and watches.
