• Nancy Saleme is a Venezuelan-American artist living in Brooklyn since 2002. Saleme has earned degrees from various schools around the world such as University of Fine Arts in Poland, National School of Fine Arts of Peru, Cristóbal Rojas School of Visual Arts of Caracas, Venezuela, and The Arts Students League of New York. Saleme has been awarded exhibitions, commissions, residencies, and grants inside and outside of the U.S. and she has accomplished 13 public art commissions in recent years. Her work has been included in prominent national and international galleries, universities, and art fairs. Venues such as John Jay College for Criminal Justice, NYC; Lehman College Art Gallery, Bronx; Museo Joaquín Arcadio Pagaza, Mexico City; Owensboro Museum of Fine Art; WAH Center, Brooklyn; Gallery Na Kashirke Moscow-Russia; Galerie R31 Berlin-Germany; Gallery Shoshinkan Nagano-Japan; Galería Club Empresarial Lima-Peru; AAF Contemporary Art Fair NYC, Chicago Art Fair-Art London and Art Singapore among others. Saleme’s work is in the collections of Williamsburg Art & Historical Center, Brooklyn, The Venezuelan American Endowment for the Arts, New York, as well as numerous private collections.
