Myriam Gonzalez ( Barquisimeto, 1938) Sculpture and ceramist. Studied Art at U.C.V. Has participated in many art courses, among them, Sculpture with the Teacher Candido Millan. Has received important national acknowledgments among them the Municipal Three-Dimensional Visual Arts Salon Juan Lovera (1996). About her work, she says: "My goal is to sublimate the stone in search of the origin of life. My Lithos are made of units that constitute a form in themselves, self-supported, that overlap forming one volume. In them exists one constant internal tension, visual balance, texturized surfaces, and telluric color, which gives the work an identity of its own". Has participated in more than 60 collective exhibitions and 4 individual exhibitions.
