Juan Alejandro Vegas is an Industrial Designer born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1978. Mr. Vegas has graduated at the Instituto de Diseño de Caracas in 2002.
Developing a prolific career in the Venezuelan plastic art scene, Vegas is specially known for painting portraits of celebrities and historical personalities, performing kinetic experiments and creating constructivist figurative sculptures and artwork inspired by fractals (geometric grids found in nature).
His first two solo exhibitions displayed portraits of well-known German characters: in April 2014, "Alegorías Pictóricas" in the Asociación Cultural Humboldt of Caracas and in October 2016, under the same name, in La Colonia Tovar Selva Negra Hotel.
He also participated in several group exhibitions and auctions, among which stand out: "100 Artistas Plásticos por los Periodistas" ("100 Plastic Artists for Journalists") in El Nacional’s Headquarters in Caracas, June 2016, “72 Artistas Plásticos por los Periodistas Venezolanos” ("72 Plastic Artists for Venezuelan Journalists") in Miami, USA, August 2017 and the auction in support of FUNDANA, a Foundation supporting children in need over the last four years.
Two of his artworks had been displayed over three years at the residence of the German Ambassador in Venezuela.
